UHMN Launch Their Biggest Christmas Gift Appeal Yet
27 November 2019 Local News
UHNM Charity is launching its biggest ever gift appeal to bring some Christmas cheer to children and adults staying in hospital over the festive period.
The Charity, which improves patient care and experience at University Hospital Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is asking people to donate gifts which will be handed out to patients at both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford in the run up to Christmas Day.
Steve Rushton, UHNM Charity Manager said: “Christmas is usually a wonderful time of year filled with family, friends and festivities. Sadly, hundreds of people in our local area spend their Christmas in hospital. For families, it’s hard to see a relative having to spend the day in a clinical setting away from home. For others, it can be an incredibly lonely time, with no family or visitors at all. A gift from UHNM Charity can help bring a little festive cheer to patients in our care during this time. Our Christmas appeal is the perfect way to let patients know that someone is thinking about them over the festive period.”
UHNM Charity are appealing for donations of new and unwrapped:
– Toiletry sets suitable for adults, teenagers and children
– Children’s stationary including colouring books, crayons and pencils
– Baby stuffed toys
– Children’s sensory toys
– Reading books suitable for adults (including elderly-friendly), teenagers and children
– New born baby clothes and blankets (with tags)
– Adult and elderly-friendly games and puzzles
– Chocolate and sweet gift packs
Donations can be made Monday 18 November to Friday 20 December at the Royal Stoke University Hospital Main Atrium (24 hours) and County Hospital Main Entrance (PALS Office) 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
