Man in Court Charged with Biddulph Robbery
A man is due to appear before magistrates after a robbery and incident of criminal damage in Biddulph overnight Friday 27 January to Saturday 28 January.
Scott Minshull, 36, of Church Road, Biddulph, was charged with robbery and criminal damage during the early hours of Sunday 29 January. He was remanded in custody to appear before magistrates at Newcastle-Under-Lyme today, Monday 30 January.
The charges relate to a robbery at Bargain Booze in Tunstall Road at around 10:35pm (Fri). Police were called after a man entered the shop and demanded cash from staff. The man left with a quantity of cash.
Following initial enquiries at the scene officers attended a nearby address just after 12am to carry out further enquiries and a man was seen on the roof, after damage was caused to a ceiling. Specially trained officers worked to engage with the man and bring the incident to a safe conclusion, he was arrested just before 2am.
The road was closed as a safety precaution while the incident was ongoing.
