Local Football Roundup - 27th November 2016
You could be forgiven for thinking there was no local football this weekend, as The Hitmix team turned their attention to the big christmas light switch on in the town centre, but never fear your round up is here.
We start in League One and Port Vale who travelled to Shrewsbury Town.
It was a lacklustre affair with the Valiants only managing a nil nil draw with bottom of the league Shrewsbury.
Crewe suffered a four nil defeat away to Colchester United.
Colchester took the lead in the twentieth minute and then added three to their tally in the second half leaving Crewe in tenth place after nineteen games.
There was no game for Stafford Rangers this weekend as their FA Trophy game at Chorley was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
They now hope to play this on Tuesday evening.
In the Evo Stik Division One South we had just two games involving our local sides.
Leek Town drew one all with Bedworth United thanks to a goal from Jordan Johnson.
Kidsgrove Athletic also drew one all in their away tie at Sheffield.
The goal for Kidsgrove came from substitute Chris Birchall.
The Sunday lunchtime kickoff saw Stoke move up to tenth place with a one nil victory over Watford.
Charlie Adam was the goal maker on the half hour mark when his header hit the base of the post before bouncing off the Watford keeper and into the net.
