02.02.23 – £30,000 of cars stolen in NUL, Cyclist Knocked over in SOT, Man attacked in SOT

Two men have been arrested after more than £30,000-worth of cars were stolen from a business in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

At around 11.15am on Monday, a group of men forced their way into a car garage in Ashley, and then drove away in a number of stolen cars.   Local officers and police dogs started a search and quickly found one of the vehicles which had been ditched in a car park on Weston Road.  Two men were tracked to the Weston Coyney area, and A 34-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, and a 29 year old of no fixed address were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was knocked to the ground during a non-stop collision in Stoke-on-Trent.

Between 6.20 and 6.50 on Saturday morning, the cyclist was riding in the cycle lane of the A50 westbound, next to the Meir and Longton Royal British Legion, when a car drove into the bus stop and knocked over a large metal frame, which   hit the cyclist, causing him to fall off the bike.  The cyclist, a man in his 20s, went to hospital as a precaution but is thankfully not seriously injured.  Staffordshire Police are looking for information with regards to the suspect car, which is believed be a Skoda with tinted windows.  Any witnesses or those with footage of the area at the time are asked to get in touch by calling 101, quoting incident 515 of 28 January.

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after a man was hit by a van following an altercation in Stoke-on-Trent.  At around 11.45 on Saturday night,  a white Ford Transit turned up outside an address on Moston Street in Birches Head. At least five masked men got out of the van and threatened the victim in the street.  A short time later, the men got back into the Transit and appeared to deliberately drive into the victim – causing him to collide with a parked car.

The offenders drove away following the collision, leaving the victim, a man in his 30s, injured at the scene.

Luckily, he was not seriously injured and did not need hospital treatment.
