Apedale man formally identified

20 November 2017 Local News

Sadly police are now in a position to confirm the name of the man who passed away at Apedale Country Park in Newcastle-under-Lyme on Sunday morning.

He has been positively identified as Francis Hamlett, aged 50, from the Hartshill area of Stoke-on-Trent.

Mr Hamlett passed away on 19 November after falling unwell and appearing to suffer from a cardiac arrest. The West Midlands Ambulance Service and police officers tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at Royal Stoke Hospital.

Staffordshire Police are currently not considering his death to be suspicious and a report is being prepared for the Coroner. A post mortem will now take place.
