Stoke City thrashed Hull City 5-1 at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Valiants dropped out of the play-off zone but the point keeps them firmly involved in the battle for promotion from league two.

Crewe Alexandra moved to the top of league two with a 3-1 victory over bottom of the table Stevenage.

Goals from Chris Porter, Charlie Kirk and Ryan Wintle secured all three points for the Alex with Stevenage getting a consolation goal in the ninetieth minute.

It was heartache from Kidsgrove Athletic at the Auto Insurance Stadium as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Stamford with the goal coming in the ninetieth minute from Harry Vince.

The Staffordshire Senior League moved into the semi-final of their Senior League Cup competition at they defeated West Yorkshire Senior League 3-2 at Hanley Town Football Club on Saturday.

They will now face West Cheshire in the semi final.
