PORT VALE AND CREWE BOTH WIN
Port Vale gained an impressive 3-1 victory over second place Exeter City at Vale Park on Tuesday night.
The Valiants fell behind with a goal from Nicky Ajose in the 22nd minute and that’s the way it stayed until half-time. Vale got a penalty in the 50th minute which was duly scored by Richie Bennett and the home side turned the game on its head as they went in front with a Leon Legge goal on 64 minutes. The points were sealed with Vale’s third goal and Bennett’s second on 70 minutes. The result leaves the Burslem outfit 3-points adrift of the play-off places and in tenth place in the league 2 table.
Crewe Alexandra gained a 2-0 victory over Leyton Orient at the Alexandra Stadium.
Charlie Kirk put the Alex in front after just 2 minutes and the points were sealed in the 88th minute as Daniel Powell netted for the home side
The result has moved the railwaymen back into the automatic promotion places as they leapfrog Plymouth into third place.
