PORT Vale maintained their one hundred percent home record this season as they gained a 2-1 victory over Carlisle United in the league two fixture at Vale Park on Saturday afternoon.

Loft opened the scoring in the opening minute to put United into a shock lead which the Cumbrian club held onto until the hour mark when David Worrall netted for the Valiants. The home side left it late to take the lead as Mark Cullen scored the winner seven minutes from time in the 83rd minute.

The victory takes Vale up to eighth place in the league two table and just out of the play-off zone on goal difference.

Kidsgrove Athletic thrashed Wisbech Town 5-0 in the Bet Victor Northern Premier League South East Division at the Autonet Insurance Stadium.

Anthony Malbon scored a hat-trick for Grove with Kyle Blake and Ben Hart also netting for the home side.
