Teamwork Brings Woman To Safety

12 July 2019 Local News News

Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have worked together to bring a woman to safety in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers from both services were called to a report of a woman in distress on the footbridge near the Longton exit of the A50 at around 6:50 on Tuesday evening, closing the A50 in both directions.

Great teamwork managed to help the woman to safety within an hour, with West Midlands Ambulance Service transporting her to Royal Stoke University Hospital for medical treatment.

Chief Inspector Steve Taylor, force incident manager for Staffordshire Police, said: “I would like to thank the public for their patience and support during this incident. The woman is now safe thanks to the excellent partnership work from all three emergency services.”
