Wolstanton Rotary Club – Litter Pick

As part of their commitment to support the community of Wolstanton, the Rotary club accepted the challenge of #GBSPRINGCLEAN2019.
The campaign, promoted by Keep Britain Tidy in partnership with The Daily Mail, has the aim of Improving the environment on your doorstep. It’s the country’s biggest ever mass action environmental campaign.
The campaign took place from 22nd March to 23rd April 2019.
Wolstanton Rotary Club chose to litter pick in the Wolstanton High Street and surrounding areas, 12 Rotarians took part led by club President Robin Kemp and project co-ordinator, Rotarian David Morgan. The team met with praise from local residents and the 12 bags of litter collected in less than 2 hours was a most successful outcome.
Thanks must also go to Newcastle Borough Council for their support, particularly for supplying bags and grabbers.
During May the club have arranged a litter pick on Wolstanton Marsh with pupils from St Wulstans Primary School, Wolstanton.
