Officers and Staff Recognised in Annual Award Ceremony

10 October 2018 Local News

The winners of this year’s Staffordshire Police Force Awards have been announced at a special ceremony at Staffordshire County Showground this evening (October 9).

The annual event recognises and celebrates outstanding achievements by members of the force, including police officers, staff, Specials, cadets and volunteers.

Staffordshire Police Chief Constable Gareth Morgan, who presented awards to the winners, said: “I am immensely proud of the dedication and commitment shown by officers and staff on a daily basis to prevent crime and disorder and provide an outstanding service, often in difficult and challenging circumstances.

“These awards are our way of saying a special ‘thank you’ to members of the force who have gone above and beyond that to making Staffordshire safer for local communities.”

Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire and Rescue and Crime, Matthew Ellis said: “Officers risk their lives every day to keep us all safe and only recently we’ve seen brave officers injured in the line of duty. They are heroes and I was honoured to be at the awards recognising the great work they do.

“It was also a pleasure to present the Annabel Lewis Award for Cadet of the Year to Alfie Cliff, who represents everything great about the cadets, with his outstanding service, leadership and duty. He is a prime example of why I introduced the cadets when I first came into office.”
