Young Boy Dies in Collsion in Stoke-on-Trent

The Staffordshire and West Midlands Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a collision where a young boy has sadly died and a woman and another young boy have been seriously injured.
The collision, between a silver BMW and a white Mercedes van at around 12:50pm today (16 August), occurred on Uttoxeter Road between Blythe Bridge roundabout and Draycott Old Road, near to the junction with Stuart Avenue.
The young boy was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance but sadly died a short while later. The other boy, who was in the same vehicle, was taken by air ambulance to Sheffield Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A man and a woman were also taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with the woman in a critical condition and the man with minor injuries.
The family are being supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are at the scene of the incident and are appealing for any witnesses of the collision or anyone with dash-cam footage to contact 101 immediately quoting incident number 332 of 16 August.
