200,000 Tramadol tablets seized on A50

A man was arrested and over 200,000 Tramadol tablets seized when officers stopped a car on the A50 in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday afternoon (7 August).

The incident occurred at around 3pm on a stretch of the A50 near to the Blurton turn off after a vehicle was seen being driven erratically.

When officers stopped the vehicle they made the discovery and detained the driver.

Officers have confirmed that the stolen batch of drugs is from a pharmaceutical company in Durham.

A 55-year-old man from Bolton was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply (Tramadol). He remains in police custody and enquiries are on-going.
