Police appealing for witnesses after 16-year-old boy seriously assaulted in Silverdale

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault of a 16-year-old boy in Silverdale, Newcastle-under-Lyme, last weekend.

The victim was assaulted by a group of youths as he walked along Silverdale Road sometime between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Saturday 28 April, near to the traffic lights by the garden centre. During the incident, the boy was stamped on by one of the offenders.

A male nurse, believed to be from Royal Stoke University Hospital, stopped to help the victim, dispersed the crowd and drove him away to safety.

Officers would like to speak to this nurse or any other witnesses to the incident. If you have any information, please call Staffordshire Police immediately on 101 quoting incident 908 of 28 April.
