Mark Chester – Naughty, 2018 Revised Edition [AUDIOBOOK]
21 April 2018 Local Sport
Fifteen years ago Mark Chester wrote a book about his experiences as a founder member of Stoke City’s notorious football hooligan outfit, the Naughty 40.
Writing the novel changed Mark’s life and not necessarily in a good way.
Mark was first exposed to football violence aged just 10 in the old Boothen End at the Victoria Ground.
He had a very unsettled childhood, went on to be expelled from school and was discharged from the Staffordshire Regiment.
Mark says publishing his book had a very negative impact on his life. Fifteen years later he decided to revise the original narrative, he added some new material mainly answering some of the criticisms the original book attracted and decided to release the book again – this time as an audio download.
Mark spoke to HitMix Sport’s Tony Walley during the halftime break in last Saturday’s featured game between Alsager Town and Daisy Hill FC.
