Man sadly dies following A500 lorry collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision involving two HGV’s in Stoke-on-Trent this morning (24 November).
Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit were called to the A500 in Stoke at around 5.10am after a HGV collided with the rear of a broken down lorry between the A53 roundabout and Wolstanton Islands northbound.
The driver of the lorry which collided with the broken down vehicle has sadly died at the scene.
Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and West Midlands Ambulance also attended and the A500 remains closed in both directions.
