Flat fire in Stoke-on-Trent
1 October 2017 Local
A fire broke out in a flat in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this morning and resulted in three people ending up in hospital in a critical condition.
At around 6am all three emergency services were called to reports of a fire in a flat in Ringland Close, Stoke-on-Trent. The fire has been put out and fire investigators are now working with our officers to establish the cause of the fire.
A six-month-old baby girl, a 6-year-old boy and a woman in her 20s, who is believed to be the mother of the two children, are all at Royal Stoke Hospital in a critical condition. Another man has been treated for an ankle injury after jumping from a first floor window.
The Fire Service has confirmed that all flats have been searched and all occupants are out of the building. At this stage six flats have been affected and so we are working with partners and the building owners to ascertain who lives in each flat. Suitable temporary arrangements for housing are also already in progress.
