Vehicle recovered as hit and run investigation continues

Investigating officers have recovered the vehicle which they believe is responsible for the hit and run road traffic collision that occurred in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent.

 

The vehicle, a silver VW Jetta, was discovered off Nevada Lane, just off Sneyd Hill near to the Burslem campus of Stoke-on-Trent College. The vehicle is currently undergoing forensic analysis.

 

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit, Force Safeguarding Investigation and Local Policing are exhausting every avenue to trace the individual responsible for driving the vehicle which was involved in the collision on Waterloo Road on Tuesday evening (15 August).

 

A 17-year-old girl and her one-year-old daughter were seriously injured during the incident. The mother and daughter remain in Royal Stoke University Hospital and their conditions are described as stable.

 

Police would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that could assist with our investigation to call us on 101 quoting incident 780 of 15 August.
