Newcastle and Longton officers tackle public order situations

Officers from Newcastle and Longton have successfully brought two public order incidents to an end with a number of arrests.

We were called to reports of violence in a large group at Kingcross Street in Longton around 2:30am this morning (5th August). Officers responded, assisted by dog patrols, and arrested two.

A 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent were arrested for actual bodily harm.

In Newcastle officers responded to multiple reports of fighting in The Foyer on Hassell Street around 2:10am this morning. Officers, assisted by security staff in the town centre, stopped the fighting and arrested four.

Three women, a 21-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent, a 48-year-old from Leek and a 19-year-old from Audley, were arrested for common assault. A 22-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested for a public order offence.

Medical treatment was provided by colleagues at the West Midlands Ambulance Service on the scene for some members of the public caught up in both incidents.
