Witness appeal after serious collision on the M6 southbound

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the M6  southbound in Staffordshire this morning.

Just after 4.15am (Thursday 29 June) a pedestrian was in collision with a heavy goods vehicle near to Stafford services. The pedestrian, received life threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A 32-year-old man, from County Wicklow in Ireland, believed to have been with the injured man before the collision, was arrested at the scene for criminal damage.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 59 of 29 June.
