3 April 2017 Local News

Students and Staff at Stoke on Trent College will be joined by youngsters from South Africa this week, when they gather to celebrate Easter prior to the end of term.

The service, at the College’s Cauldon Campus will be held this Wednesday (5th April 2017) at 12 noon.

Visiting students from Manenberg, who are currently on a Cultural visit to the College, will join in the prayers and praise led by Staffordshire University’s Multi-faith chaplain, Rev Mick Williams.

As well as an Easter Talk and Prayers, there will be a performance from the Staffordshire University Gospel Choir.

Students’ Union Development Worker, Roberta Fontaine, said: “The Easter message is of hope and reconciliation. It is important in the Students’ Union, as across the College, that we bring people together and our Easter service does that, embracing all faiths and exploring other people’s lives.  Our service is even more special this year as we have students on a return visit from South Africa, who our students visited on their Challenge South Africa exchange a few weeks ago”.

The local community are welcome to join in the event at 12.00 noon at the College’s Atrium, Lifestyle building, College Road, Stoke on Trent ST4 2DG.
